Protect Women’s Car Insurance by Clamping Down on Cash For Crash

One of the biggest stealth threats to increased premiums on women’s car insurance is the problem of cash-for-crash accidents, which are becoming rife among the criminal fraternity.

The problem is that many women are unaware of the threat of cash-for-crash crime, with 41 percent of drivers having never even heard of the term. However, ignorance only feeds the criminals, all too eager to continue their malicious practices in order to make money.

For those unaware of the phenomenon, cash-for-crash is when a gang of criminals cause a traffic accident deliberately in order to make a fake or highly inflated insurance claim. Cars will be stopped abruptly for no apparent reason to catch unwary drivers and cause a collision, which can then lead to a hefty insurance claim.

Insurer MORE TH>N estimated that women’s car insurance policies are increased by £40 on average as a result of cash-for-crash. As a result, honest policy holders with women’s car insurance are being exploited and punished by criminals causing accidents deliberately.

A survey taken by MORE TH>N revealed that over 66 per cent of drivers would not recognise if they were being targeted for a staged accident, and a further 32 per cent would be clueless as to what to do if they were caught in a cash-for-crash incident. Drivers in the North-East of the UK were least aware of cash-for-crash, with over half of all people asked having never heard of the crime.
